Odoo Lead Consultant at ANCHORENA (2026)
Odoo Lead Consultant supporting the implementation of Odoo ERP for a gold-mining operation in Colombia. My responsibilities included on-site requirements gathering, BPMN-based business process analysis, functional implementation, employee training, operational process improvement, and coordination with an external Odoo developer.
Project Overview
The project focused on improving operational visibility, standardizing business processes, and supporting the digital transformation of administrative and field operations through Odoo. My role combined direct engagement with stakeholders at the administrative level and firsthand exposure to the realities of the mining operation.
On-Site Requirements Gathering & Business Process Analysis
Field-Based Requirements Gathering
Traveled to the mining site to understand operational activities firsthand, observing equipment, machinery, and working conditions in the field. Engaged with operational personnel to understand existing procedures, practical challenges, and the information required to support day-to-day activities.
BPMN-Based Process Analysis
Analyzed business process flowcharts using Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) to understand process sequences, responsibilities, decision points, and interactions between operational and administrative areas. Used this process-oriented approach to assess existing workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and translate business needs into functional requirements for the Odoo implementation.
Functional Requirements & Solution Alignment
Connected field observations and stakeholder requirements with Odoo's standard functionality, identifying configuration needs, process adjustments, and requirements requiring coordination with the external developer.
Odoo Functional Implementation
Inventory Management
Supported inventory process improvements involving warehouse organization, stock control, replenishment rules, and internal inventory operations. Contributed to organizing stock information and improving visibility over materials and operational supplies.
Purchasing
Worked on purchasing workflows, supplier information, and procurement process documentation to support more structured purchasing operations.
Maintenance Management
Led functional requirements gathering and refinement for enhancements to Odoo's standard Maintenance module. Defined requirements for a dedicated web form enabling field operators to submit equipment information and hour-meter readings. Worked with the external developer to refine the mathematical formula calculating the days remaining until the next preventive maintenance and configure automated actions triggered by predefined conditions to move equipment through the Kanban workflow. Structured maintenance stages around the operational workflow and work centers to support preventive maintenance planning and tracking.
Repairs Management
Defined and refined requirements linking Odoo Maintenance records to their corresponding repair orders through a dedicated tab on each maintenance record. Coordinated the solution with the external developer to support traceability between maintenance activities, repair operations, and spare parts consumption.
Projects & Operational Traceability
Used Odoo Projects to coordinate implementation activities with the external developer, breaking down functional requirements into tasks and subtasks. Leveraged Kanban to track progress, task dependencies to manage sequencing, and Gantt views to monitor timelines and implementation milestones.
eLearning — Employee Training & SAGRILAFT Certifications
Implemented Odoo eLearning as a platform for employee training and knowledge assessment. Organized digital learning resources covering SAGRILAFT compliance, Warehouse & Purchasing, and Maintenance.
Established training courses and certification exams for SAGRILAFT, enabling employees to complete learning activities and demonstrate their understanding through assessments within Odoo's eLearning module.
Technical Coordination & Supporting IT Operations
Workforce Timekeeping — BioTime / ZKTeco
Worked with BioTime and ZKTeco time-and-attendance hardware to manage employee clock-in and clock-out records and shift information used to calculate overtime and support pre-payroll processing.
This responsibility involved workforce timekeeping and supporting IT processes, rather than implementing Odoo Employees or Payroll modules.
Microsoft User Administration
Managed Microsoft user accounts, access, and permissions as a separate IT responsibility outside the Odoo ERP implementation.
