Sales Executive at Tutorya (2017 & 2015)
Tutorya was my second job experience, my first one in Sales.
This job experience was really valuable because it was my first approach in the Software industry.
Tutorya was founded as an elearning platform for highschool students to face the Colombian IQ government test. (ICFES - SABER 11)
Depending on the result students could go the best universities in the country.
Traditional vendors that offered an onsite preparation for this test.
This vendors had the fame of giving poor results and students were not too involved because of the onsite format.
As elearing was becoming worldwide popular, Tutorya and other competitors were becoming a disruptive alternative.
Colombian market is not tech saavy and is very traditional in comparison to Europe or North America.
Therefore it required creativity and perseverance to take customers from the typical vendors for ICFES training.
2015
This first cycle consisted in visiting highschools and showing the service to highschool directors and their students.
The main obstacle to offer the app was the traditional competitor. This challenge could be faced with demos and some testimonial videos of previous customers.
2017
This project was focused in one specific goal: get a commercial partnership.
The objective was accomplished with one library and a major reailer.
In the case of the library, Tutorya licences were offered to particular students.
With the major retailer the agreement would have a greater impact. There was an agreement to resell licences in their stores.
